When feeding baby, do I go by weight or by age?

Meaning: my son is 6 weeks old he was born weighting 10.47 lbs/ 4.750 kgs, now his weight is like a 5 month old 18 lbs/7.500 kgs so ovbviously he's hungrier than other babies, I'm already feeding him with the spoon, can I do that?
