Ariel's Grotto or Blue Bayou?

Hi, I'm going to Disneyland for my 16th birthday and I want to have a really special birthday meal. I've narrowed down my two choices of restaurants to Blue Bayou and Ariel's Grotto. I've always loved POTC (the ride and the movie) and I really like the atmosphere of Blue Bayou (I've never eaten there, just look upon it from the ride) but there aren't any characters and the food doesn't seem like anything special. At Ariel's Grotto the character lunch seems really fun, and the food seems good, but I feel like the actors won't put as much into their characters considering I'm not a little kid, also it seems like it gets really crowded and noisy during lunch time. What would you recommend from personal experiences and why? Thank you so much!
